We obtained a $170,000.00 settlement at trial for a 45 year old Long Island man who was injured when a large wooden crate was knocked over at a Home Expo causing him a significant wrist injury.
He ultimately underwent an arthroscopic wrist surgery to repair the torn tendon injury. The defendant in the case, a well known purveyor of mattresses, denied any responsibility for the incident.
They claimed it was caused by independent contractors over which they had no control. Through multiple depositions and detailed questioning we were able to prove that the did, in fact, control the means and methods of the contractors who caused the incident.
As a result they finally offered reasonable money at trial and after we defeated all of their efforts to dismiss the case.
